The medieval gun man was an unconditional and reliable fighter who exhibited great martial prowess with a variety of weapons. He was a veteran of many conflicts and was often the first to enter the fray. Although he was not a Knight, he fought and trained with them like a brother-in-arms. To honor these hard and salt warriors of the earth, Cold Steel has created a range of true day laborer weapons called the Man at Arms Collection.
The fully sharp and bluish blades have a distinctive gun metal finish that complements the black handles. And when they’re well oiled, they’re gleaming and beautiful in their own right.
The armed sword is inspired by the side arm chosen by many of history’s official infantry soldiers and warriors. Smaller and more agile than many of the heaviest swords on the battlefield, this double-edged blade was light enough to be easily handled with one hand, and rigid enough to find vulnerable gaps in a gentleman’s plate armor or break his mesh dimension.
Cold Steel’s interpretation of this ultra-fast combat sword is made of expertly treated high carbon steel and richly bluish with an ink black finish. With upward-pronounced stop quillons, a fluted leather grip and a counterweight wheel knob, the Arming Sword is beautifully balanced and, with all the bluish steel accessories.
With a hand-sewn black leather sheath with a steel collar and chape.
