Description

The motors on both cars work but will need new tires to get traction. You might also need to work on getting proper braid contact with the track. The center 4 lights work with 3 yellow lights and 1 green light at the bottom. I could not get the 2 red lights to function but both of the red bulbs work when tested in the center sockets. So perhaps some work is needed to make proper electrical contact on those bulb sockets. The synchronized start system seems to work okay with the buttons and gears functioning once the dial is wound. The transformer and hand controllers work. The orange car has a painted parachute area. Each dragster has one missing guide flag centering post on the inside of the body. Roll bars show wear and the orange car has the chrome touched up with silver paint.

Here up for sale is a used Eldon 1/24 top eliminator drag strip set from the 1960s.  The motors on both cars work but will need new tires to get traction.  You might also need to work on getting proper braid contact with the track.  The center 4 lights work with 3 yellow lights and 1 green light at the bottom.  I could not get the 2 red lights to function but both of the red bulbs work when tested in the center sockets.  So either some work is needed to make proper electrical contact on those bulb sockets, or something else needs fixing there, or I'm just not testing them the right way.  I've never set up the track and got the cars running down the track, I've just tested the cars at the start/Christmas tree track area.  The synchronized start system seems to work okay with the white buttons and gears functioning once the dial is wound.  The transformer and hand controllers work too.  The orange car has a painted parachute area.  Each dragster has one missing guide flag centering post on the inside of the body.  Roll bars show wear and the orange car has the chrome touched up with silver paint.
The set also includes 16 long straights, each about 11.375" long (
harder to come by than the shorter type straights usually seen in this set)
, 1 medium straight a bit under 5.75" long, 1 short backstop piece, 1 end piece without rails a bit under 5.75" long, and a finish gate which seems to be operating, plus a white tunnel piece.  Missing small parts like rubber bands, clay for weights, and flags with flagpoles.  Box has wear, tears, and water stains as shown.  4 pages of photocopies of instructions are included Nice set which will need some work to make functional again.
