Italian stoque with curve guard, 16th centuryItalian stoque with curve guard, 16th century
This is a very beautiful replica of an Italian stoque with curved handle of the sixteenth century. With the end of the Middle Ages, swords became longer and smaller because combat techniques changed. The common sword has now been replaced by the most elegant stoque.
During the Renaissance, the use of a stoque has also been a symbol of knighthood. The superior nobles, such as the counts or barons, used longer leaves, the lower nobles, shorter leaves.
The handle is made of animal bones.
