Marto / Windlass - Crusader Helmet
Marto / Windlass - Crusader Helmet
Developed in the early 12th century, the Great Helm became the mainstay of the medieval fighter and lasted for some 300 years. Worn over a coif of mail and quilting. This helmet has menacing, narrow openings for maximum protection. Made of 18 gauge steel.
This Crusader helmet was developed in the early 12th century, the Middle Ages of the Crusades. For almost 300 years, men on foot and on horseback wore this type of helmet, sometimes over a chainmail or padded coif, other times as independent protection. The emblem of the Crusaders was a Cross, which appears to the left of the Helmet.
Windlass Steelcrafts have carefully crafted this 18 gauge steel helmet to ensure it is a true representation of a medieval fighter. Narrow eye slits provide a menacing appearance and ensure full protection.
With an authentic design, this replica is perfect for collections and historical re-enactments.
Fits up to a circumference of 66 cm
