The USB Hub v2.1 board provides 7 USB ports for the MiSTer FPGA, if you need to connect multiple USB devices this is a very useful add-on board, offering a neat minimalist connection solution via the provided Micro USB Bracket Connector which connects directly into the header installed on the USB hub board and then via the right angled gold plated micro USB connector into the DE10 Nano board. A power splitter cable is also included along with four brass hex stand-offs and legs.
The updated official MiSTer USB Hub v2.1 add-on board has the new VBUS control circuit installed, this additional protection IC is used for USB power cycling to help some USB devices reinitialize upon reset. Also present is an additional USB power only socket, this is marked PWR1 on the board and provides a powered only USB socket. This  USB port can also charge a cell phone at 2.1v along with power most HDMI to VGA converters that use USB.
Each USB hub add on board for the MiSTer FPGA are checked under a microscope to ensure no solder bridges are present, the complete USB hub board is fully cleaned in an ultrasonic bath to remove any flux residue left over from assembly. Each USB hub board uses high quality branded components including KEMET and Samsung.
