OOAK Handmade Inlaid Wooden Box With Wooden Inlaid Cross And Drawer Many Fine Woods Used. Beautifully detailed wooden box with attached wooden cross and attached wooden vase with many inlays. (The  flowers are removable.) The back has the date 1954. The drawer has an index card that lists all the different woods used and is signed by the maker.   The cross is handmade mahogany with inlay of birds eye maple, holly and cherry. The base of cross is black walnut.  The vase, has inlays of gumwood, tulipwood, black walnut, Honduras mahogany and African mahogany.  The top ends and back are birdseye maple with inlay of holly, olive wood ebony and narra. Bottom tiger wood. Front Japanese birch inlaid with tulip wood and honduras mahogany. Legs white maple andblack walnut inlay. The book is Idaho white pine and decoupaged with a Irish saying.   Signed made by H.W. Melton dated 1954.  There is a short crack in the top as you can see in photo. The drawer is padded and lined with a soft kind of corduroy rust color. The index card detailing the woods will be included. The front of box is 10" inches long. Including handles it is 12" inches.
