    PATTERN M1892 “BERTHEIR” BAYONET SCABBARD
. (Inv. no. 0503) It is about 20 inches long with a 15 1/2 inch blade. It is marked on one side of the crosspiece I and on the other W in script ? ? 47316. The hanging ring on the scabbard is marked AR? (IN SCRIPT) 5884 ? It was for the 8 mm Mannlicher-Bertheir M1890 cavalry carbine and M1892 and M1916 artillery carbine. Wooden grips (2
    nd
pattern) were introduced ca 1905. The wider muzzle ring as on this example was introduced in 1912. The bayonet is in good condition except it is missing the press stud and the side of the pommel is dented. The scabbard is in very good condition with minor wear. This is outside my area of collecting and expertise and I have relied on references books and the internet. Please email any questions. Starting price is .95. Shipping weight is 3 pounds 10 ounces.
