Viking temple sword with pod, practice and SK-B romaViking temple sword with pod, practice and SK-B roma
The Viking or Carolingian sword was a type of sword used in western and northern Europe in the early Middle Ages. The «Viking sword» was developed from the Roman Spatha and was used by the Franks in the Carolingian period (751 to 911).
This battle-ready word is handmade only. The protection and characteristic three-pointed hat knob are made of thermally treated malleable cast iron. The blade is hand-riveted to the knob. The handle has leather straps. The spring steel blade is oil tempered up to approx. 48″ Rockwell and has a distinctive fuller that offers great flexibility and lower weight. The edges of the blade are dull and the tip is rounded for added safety.
The beautiful wooden sheath is lined in leather and features a wooden belt clip (maximum belt width 5 cm), as well as a richly ornate brass layer.
This is the practical blunt version of this Viking sword. The same sword is also available as a regular version (product number 0180001718).
