    Open box, never on a saxophone.
    Un-lacquered necks come in as a shiny brass, with a light gold lacquer appearance,
    but within time, they usually react to the environment and become somewhat oxidized.
    **For all our un-lacquered Yamaha necks, Alto and Tenor, we do not use an
    un-lacquered octave key as we prefer to not have the mechanical octave key oxidized.
    This has the Yamaha gold lacquer octave key.
    Fits all current Yamaha Alto Saxophones, if a vintage Yamaha, you
    probably will need a slight adjustment to the octave rod
